Even if you have these symptoms it does not necessarily mean that you have the infection.


The symptoms are similar to other illnesses that are much more common, such as cold and flu.

The Scottish government's check list for the workplace includes:

  • routine cleaning and disinfection of frequently touched objects and surfaces.
  • basic hand washing 
  • crockery and cutlery in shared kitchen areas should be cleaned with warm water and detergent and dried thoroughly
  • ensuring food such as crisps and sandwiches should not be left open for communal sharing

How can coronavirus (COVID-19) infection be prevented?

The best way to prevent the spread of Coronavirus is to follow government advice as it is designed to help break the chain of infection. So:


Routine cleaning and disinfection of frequently touched objects and surfaces such as telephones, keyboards, door handles, desks and tables


Basic hand washing highlighted as the most effective way of preventing the spread of infection. Hand hygiene promoted by ensuring staff, contractors, service users and visitors have access to hand washing facilities and alcohol-based hand rub, where available


Ensure crockery and cutlery in shared kitchen areas should be cleaned with warm water and detergent and dried thoroughly


Ensuring food such as crisps and sandwiches should not be left open for communal sharing unless individually wrapped


It's important to use soap and water or a hand sanitiser. 


Other preventative measures for the coronavirus include covering nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing and avoiding close contact with anyone showing coronavirus symptoms.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Reported Cases

In addition to our enhanced cleaning service, should you have a situation where there is a suspected case of coronavirus (COVID-19) and you wish to have a more intensive clean, we can also use an atmospheric sanitiser which is a highly effective, powerful broad-spectrum germicide proven to be 99.9998% (Log Kill 6). 


We use a misting system to propel a micro-mist of powerful, disinfecting active ingredients that disperse throughout the work environment.  It works on contact with every surface and is effective against viruses and other harmful microorganisms as well as eliminating a wide range of germs, including bacteria, yeasts and fungi that can be the cause of bad odours. 


Fully tested to standards BS EN 1276 and BS EN 1650, it 


· Eliminates the germs responsible for colds, flu, staph infections and MRSA

· Is proven to kill a wide range of bacteria including E-coli, Salmonella and Legionella.

· Disinfects difficult to reach areas

· Remains active for up to 7 days
